Before You Apply

Please read the Adoption Process and the FAQ before submitting this form. We review every application personally and respond within 1–3 business days. There's no fee to apply and no obligation until you decide to move forward with a deposit.

We want to know about your home, your lifestyle, your experience with dogs, and what kind of companion you're hoping to find. There's no scoring system — we're just looking for honesty and alignment.

Section 6 — Acknowledgments

I understand that River Dachs puppies go home at 8 weeks of age and not before.

I understand that pick-up is in person only. River Dachs generally requires in-person pickup; shipping may be considered in special circumstances.

I agree that if I am ever unable to keep my River Dachs dog, I will contact River Dachs first before rehoming or surrendering to a shelter.

I agree to take my puppy to a licensed veterinarian for a wellness check within 72 hours of pickup.

I understand the back health requirements for dachshunds (no jumping until 12 months, weight management, ramps/steps for furniture).

I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy. My information will be used solely for adoption purposes.
